I have an idea for a research project if anyone is interested. I see a lot of people who have bad COPD and are on a beta blocker. In my opinion, from what i have read, pts with COPD or asthma should be on a betablocker only if necessary due to the bronchoconstriction. I would like to do a study with 2 groups of ER patients (COPD exacerbation on a beta blocker), half of them get a dose of glucagon and the other half don't. I am curious to see if the glucagon patients get admitted less then the others. If someone is interested let me know and if you have a patient like this, see if you can come up with a reason to give glucagon and see what happens. I am going to try it. See attached study, i know its old but there is not much out there

If they are in severe bronchospasm and on BB couldn't you make a case for glucagon anyway. I think that's reason enough if you want to push it.
