speaking of CME, how do you track this and determine what has what value for licensing? Ie ive done board review, gone to conferences and listen to emrap, what are these worth and how do i log them

Correct me if I am wrong on this, but you cannot earn independent CME credit during residency.
However, successful completion of each year of residency earns 50 credits per year (~1 credit per week).
So...everything you have done is worth nothing (likely got them at discounted 'resident rate' for this reason, and all you need to save is your residency certificate of completion. Once you graduate, things change and now you pay full price, but also get CME certificates you can print (or save as pdf). Just keep these all logged somewhere in case you are the lucky one who gets audited in 10 yrs (most don't). Just to give you an idea, each EMRAP is worth somewhere 3.5-5 hrs. ABEM requires certified physicians to complete an average of 25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits per year; eight of the credits must be “self-assessment (this means they have a quiz at the end)". Now with this said, keep in mind that your employer or state medical board may have additional requirements (the same CME credits will count for both). For Ohio you must complete 100 hours of CME credit every 2 years, of which at least 40 must be Category I Credits. EPNO requires some of the credits to be risk management related, also they require stroke scale certification (which will provide credits). Also keep in mind that ATLS is worth a couple credits.
So in the end, if you are doing EMRAP + stroke scale +ATLS +going to a conference +risk management monthly like I am, you will be over the required amount
