interesting study pasted below. from lifeinthefastlane. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25349008don't think we see this type of issue much at peds ED at TTH, but certainly at UTMC, with pediatric fx's, there have been instances where nurses have been quite upset that we haven't been giving stronger analgesics to peds for pain control or before splinting. it also speaks to the point that kids probably don't and really shouldn't be going home w/ narcotics. ibuprofen = morphine in pain control. obviously small trial, but worth looking at and remembering. peds attending have any thoughts?
